MLB is not in a depression in the likes of say the 1920's or like the last days of Bushonomics! But the majority of the teams will testify that theiir attendance numbers are down this year and for some teams (like Detroit) they are wayyy down. The St. Louis Cardinals have one of the most loyal fan bases in baseball and have many wondering for the exact reason for the fans not showing up and supporting their team. The arguments range from the impending free agency of star player Albert Pujols while some simply want to blame on the rain. April has been a particular "bad weather" month around some parts of the country and most teams in baseball do experience a spike in attendance once school is out.
For sales reps, I am curious to understand the angle or sales strategy used in times like these. The team is still pretty good and they still have their top sales draw.
